A CHARITY which provides help for people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is expanding.
Chorley Safe Space have extended its hours to include Saturdays; noon-3pm, at Chorley Community Centre, Railway Street.
This is in addition to their current hours which Mondays and Fridays for adults in recovery from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and Thursdays (fortnightly) 7.30pm to 9pm for family members and those affected by the addiction of someone close to them.
Chorley Safe Space opened last May in response to a gap in support provision across the borough for people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
It was recognised that although there is service provision from 9am-5pm for people requiring treatment, there was very little available outside of these hours.
The Saturday afternoons will offer a safe place for people to meet and make new friends and break the all too familiar patterns of isolation and negativity associated with addiction.
