The Lancashire Telegraph's Wasted Lives Campaign will push for the following...

* An educational safe driving DVD to be distributed to every 15-year-old school pupil in East Lancashire.

* An educational roadshow to visit each secondary school in East Lancashire.

* Readily available advice for parents on how to spot the danger signs and what to do about tackling them.

* A graduated licence scheme for the first two years after passing the driving test, which would ban people under 25 from driving on the motorway until they have taken two motorway driving lessons, driving over 50mph on any other road or having more than one passenger under 25 in the car with them at any time except for in emergencies.

* The display of P-plates on a driver's car for the first two years after they pass their test.

* The automatic doubling of penalty points if a driver under 25 caught committing another motoring offence is also found to be in breach of the above restrictions.

* The immediate loss of a driving licence if a driver is caught speeding by more than 10mph over the speed limit for the first three years after passing your test.

* A mandatory education course as part of the preparation for all driving tests, dealing with speed and night time driving.

* Lessons on motorway driving must be completed after two years, before the P-plate restrictions are lifted.

* An advanced driving test to be completed before anyone under 25 can drive a car of more than 1100cc.
