Kath Lord-Green, the Founder and Executive Director of Ribble Valley based Ribble FM CIC, has been named “Outstanding Woman in Business” at the 2018 E3 Business Awards. The event took place on 12th July at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.

Kath has spent the last 4 years building the Community (not-for-profit) radio station, based in Clitheroe, 2 years building the foundations and 2 years (since the fm launch) growing the station in the heart of Clitheroe.  Despite strong competition from nominees across the North West, Kath won the award on the basis of strong written entry, together with a confident presentation at the judges' interview stage.

The award was presented by Andrew Leeming, Boost Programme Manager of Lancashire County Council, sponsors of this category.

Receiving the award, Kath said: “without the support of the whole of the Ribble Valley, both individuals and businesses, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have at Ribble FM. The Volunteers at the station are incredible and without their outstanding contribution, I couldn’t be an “outstanding woman in business” I want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey, I am immensely proud.”

Speaking on behalf of 1 Events Media, the host and organiser of the awards, Managing Director Mubarak Chati said: “The E3 Awards have always been about more than just commercial success; they celebrate the impact that enterprise has on lives and communities across the North West. Kath is a fine example of that enterprising spirit and it's right that her commitment should be recognised.

“Kath can be very proud of her achievement. Competition this year was exceptionally fierce; so much so that we felt we had to increase the number of shortlisted candidates in several categories.”
