An East Lancashire IT firm, renowned for being quick off the mark, took the philosophy to a different level with speeds comparable to Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton!
Burnley-based Holker IT swapped keyboards for dashboards and went head-to-head with dozens of companies across the UK in the annual Toshiba Authorised Business Partners ‘Karting Cup’.
The prestigious event was hosted at the famed Daytona karting track in Milton Keynes with the gruelling two-hour endurance race including multiple driver changes and pit stops.
The Holker IT team finished in a very respectable seventh place with managing director Matthew Metcalfe - dubbed the ‘Ginger Stig’ - just two seconds short of the time set by World Champion and British favourite Lewis Hamilton over one lap of the track!
