FIREFIGHTERS dug away earth over a rabbit warren to free a trapped dog this afternoon.
A crew attended an area close to Hurstwood reservoir, Worsthorne at 3.55pm after a concerned pet owner alerted them.
A fire service spokesman, said: "A fire engine from Burnley was called to dog trapped in a rabbit warren near Hurstwood Reservoir in Worsthorne, Burnley.
"The dog, which had been trapped for over an hour, was released by firefighters after they dug away an area of the rabbit warren to find the dog.
"Firefighters were at the scene for approximately an hour."
