DIANA Vickers has been winning standing ovations every night on the West End stage.

The official ‘first night’ is tomorrow but the past two weeks have seen her wowing audiences at the preview performances.

With her fresh-faced beauty and amazing singing style, East Lancashire’s former X-Factor star is proving to be a hit in her acting debut in Little Voice, at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Show publicist Kevin Wilson said: “The show is going incredibly well.

“She has had a standing ovation every night and on the first night it was eight or nine minutes long.

“She’s coping really well and is making everyone else feel very tired.

“She is half the age of other members of the cast. Diana is being very careful. She is getting lots of rest, eating well and doing all the right things.

“She’s not a trained actress and has been very sensible.

“It has been amazing and wonderful for her.”

The 18-year-old from Huncoat has the lead role in Jim Cartwright’s tale about a shy girl who lives with her mother and impersonates some of the world’s great divas, including Judy Garland, Edith Piaf and Shirley Bassey. The ex-Westholme student co-stars with Lesley Sharp and Marc Warren, who are known for Clocking Off and Hustle respectively.
