Three women from Blackburn will walk to Preston to help raise funds for Palestine.

Shaheeda, Nazia and Rehana said the recent atrocities in Palestine had ‘made them all feeling helpless’ and they wanted to help in any way they could.

They are set to walk to Preston and then back to Blackburn on Saturday June 26.

In a message on their GoFundMe page they posted: “Thousands of homes on the Gaza strip have once again been demolished and innocent civilians have had to bear the brunt of relentless attacks on their homes and their lives.

“The Forgotten People charity have carried out tremendous work on the ground to help rebuild Gaza homes and Gazan lives. My best friend Nazia and I are hoping to raise funds by walking to and from Preston.”

"Having lived most of our lives in Preston we couldn’t think of a better destination to walk to and so we will be leaving our homes in Blackburn on Saturday, 26 June, 2021 and walking (skipping, hopping, jumping, limping and even crawling if we have to!) to Preston.

“Starting from the top of Lammack Road, Blackburn, we will be heading to the end of New Hall Lane, Preston and back - totalling approximately 19-20 miles. Help us to help others - every penny is precious so please donate whatever you can for the beloved people of Palestine.”
