HUSBAND and wife athletes Rik Waddon and Natalie Jones will be competing in the Paralympic Games from this weekend.

The couple, who married in 2010 and live in Chorley, are aiming high this year after a series of successful events.

Swimmer Natalie, 27, won gold at Athens in the 200m individual medley. She competed for ParalympicsGB in Beijing 2008, Athens 2004, and Sydney 2000, and says her greatest achievement was winning a gold medal in the 200m IM (SM6) in Athens.

She will be representing GB in the 400m freestyle (S6), 200m individual medley (SM6), 50m freestyle (S6), 50m butterfly (S6), and 100m freestyle (S6).

Also competing is husband Rik, who also has cerebral palsy. He is representing ParalympicsGB in cycling. At the 2008 Beijing Games Rik, 35, made his Paralympic debut, taking the silver medal in the 1km time trial CP3, behind his team-mate Darren Kenny.
