STRANGE shaped vegetables can be entered into a fun competition hosted by a Chatburn garden centre.
Shackletons Garden Centre is running the competition to celebrate national allotments week, which starts on Monday, August 6.
David Shackleton said: “We thought the competition would be a fun way to celebrate.
“If you’ve grown a strangely shaped vegetable that you’ve recently harvested, why not enter our competition? We’re looking forward to seeing some peculiar potatoes, contorted carrots and mangled marrows.”
Entries should be taken to Shackletons before 5pm on Saturday, August 11.
The vegetables will be displayed on Sunday, August 12, and visitors to the Garden Centre will be invited to vote for their favourites.
There are two categories in the competition, entries by adults and children’s entries.
The winner in each category will receive a £10 Shackletons gift voucher and the runners-up will each receive a £5 Shackletons gift voucher.
