A BLACKBURN girl who has been making a big splash in the Big Brother house has become the target of cyber bullies, her family have said.

Performing arts student Becky Hannon is battling it out against Deana Uppal, Ashleigh Hughes, and Luke Anderson to stay in the house tomorrow.

But this week comments made about the 19-year-old’s weight and body mass index made Becky the target of online trolls.

Dad Terry, of Kingsley Close, Feniscowles said the whole family are very proud of her performance in the house as Becky has been nothing but herself.

He said: “Becky has had an absolute ball there and anyone who knows her can see that. She has been anything but fake.

“People in Blackburn and Lancashire as a whole have really got behind Becky and protected her from the cyber bullies who have been targeting her about her weight.

“When Becky’s brother Matthew died she decided to live life to the full and that is exactlty what she is doing.

“Becky has no hang-ups about her weight but nasty comments about her BMI are damaging her health are horrible to read.

“I cannot thank our fellow Rovers supporters and local people enough for really sticking by Becky.”

One of the four contestants will be sent home tomorrow after a surprise twist saw the family and friends of the contestants, including Becky’s sister Colette, vote for who they wanted to leave instead of the housemates.

If Becky survives this week’s eviction she will have to hold on for another 10 days to emerge as the winner on August 13.

The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts student is the younger sister of 22-year-old Matthew, who died in a car accident in January 2006.

Becky, Terry and her mother Ann joined the Lancashire Telegraph to launch the ‘Wasted Lives ’ campaign in his memory and to urge other young men to slow down and take more care on the roads.

Support for Becky has also being flooding in through Facebook and Twitter.
