A BLACKBURN man who threatened his mum and wife the day he was released from jail, has been sentenced to two years prison.

Amjad Younis made the threat in a phone call, then went round to their home in Revidge Road and started to climb through a dining room window.

Earlier that same day he had been released from a twelve weeks sentence that had been passed for assaulting his mother Amanit Bi and his wife Shazia.

They then became the victims in the latest case.

Younis, 33, pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening to take revenge following the incident in April. Mark Lamberty, prosecuting at Preston Crown Court, said that in January this year, the defendant had assaulted his mother and his wife.

He said Mrs Bi had got “caught in the crossfire” during the incident at the family home in Revidge Road.

On April 2, Younis was sentenced to twelve weeks prison. Time he had spent on remand meant he was released on April 20.

That same day he telephoned his mother in the afternoon and said: “I'm coming to the house to sort you lot out, for getting me sent to prison.”

He later banged on the side window of the utility room. He started to climb through the dining room window, saying he wanted to speak to his wife.

Judge Graham Knowles QC, told Younis: “You have a complete and utter disregard for the law, for courts, for sentences. That is clear from your criminal record generally.”
