HAMMER-wielding intruders who threatened two Burnley publicans are being hunted by police.
Just after midnight on Sunday a couple were confronted in the living quarters of the Rose and Crown, in Manchester Road, by three masked men, who were demanding money.
Nothing was taken by the burglars who left after a brief search.
But detectives are anxious to trace the men who carried out the ‘frightening’ raid.
Det Con Kim De Curtis, of Burnley CID, said “This was very frightening for the victims who were just watching TV in the upstairs living area of the pub when they were threatened by these men. Fortunately, they were not hurt and nothing was stolen but this was a terrifying ordeal for them to go through.”
The three men are said to be in their late 20s to early 30s, with each wearing hooded tops and scarves covering their faces. Witnesses should call 01282 472143 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
