A 22-YEAR-OLD man escaped with a £2,000 gold chain after a struggle with a security guard at Argos in Blackburn.
Blackburn magistrates heard Leon Uzan was arrested after a police officer saw him in a café and noticed something in his hand which was glistening in the sunlight. Uzan, of Bower Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to theft which put him breach of a suspended prison sentence.
He was jailed for 12 weeks.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said his client had been using “bubble” which he blamed for his behaviour.
“If he can keep away from drugs there is the chance of a future for this young man,” said Mr Blacklidge told the bench
