Celebrity chef Nigel Haworth blamed his mum for him ending up in court for a speeding offence.
Blackburn magistrates heard Haworth, of Northcote Manor, Langho, was caught by a speed camera doing 36 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Graeme Parkinson, defending, said Haworth asked his mum to deal with the documentation which would have resulted in the fixed penalty being issued and paid.
She has not done what he asked her to do and the matter has ended up here,” said Mr Parkinson.
Haworth admitted speeding in Stancliffe Street. He was fined £60 with £60 costs and his licence endorsed with three points.
