A BURNLEY couple will tie the knot today in a lavish £20,000 wedding after members of the community rallied together after hearing of their plight.
Dad-of-two, 24-year-old Tom Cooper, and his fiancee Tammy Dale, 23, launched an appeal in the Lancashire Telegraph after being told Tom had a rare form of advanced throat cancer — Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma.
Support poured in on Facebook for the couple who have wed today at Towneley Hall, Burnley, in front of 100 of their closest family and friends.
Tammy, of Greenbrook Road, Burnley, who spent the week making sure the final details were right for her big day, said yesterday: “I’m getting married in the morning.
“I can’t believe its come round so quickly.
“This week has been manic making sure all the final arrangements are made but I just can’t wait now.”
The couple will also enjoy a wedding reception at The Oaks Hotel, in Reedley.
They had previously put off wedding plans because of money worries and now hope the day will provide a ‘legacy of love’ for their two daughters — 19-month-old Ziani and Tienna, four, a Read Primary School pupil.
