America is an emotionally charged soft indie-rock anthem that draws images of a sea of lighters held aloft at a sell-out festival gig.
Try as one might to loathe the way the track over-earnestly begs for attention, it really is a swelling, rousing song that beats the current crop of U2 and Coldplay-a-likes at their own game.
If it doesn't get off our nation's radio playlists pretty soon, though, Radio 2 will be the only home for this once-'underground' band.
There's certainly no point in buying it, unless, perhaps, you want to start hating its overexposure a few days sooner than the rest of the nation.
