TRADITIONALISTS rejoice! The good old chippy is alive and well - and living in Accrington.

For those of you who have despaired that the proper fish and chip shop has ceased to exist, take a trip to York Street.

This tiny corner shop is like a step back in time - but in the nicest way possible.

The large frying range, the pies warming under the lights, the large metal pans of peas and gravy bubbling on the stove, you can't fail to get nostalgic as you enter.

And the good news is they serve proper, tasty fish and chips.

You can have your fish battered to your taste, there are three sizes of chip portions available and everything tastes as though it has been prepared with care.

A portion of fish with small chips and a large (and I mean Large portion of chips) cost £3.95 and were worth every penny.
