An 85-year-old Great Harwood woman died after breaking her hip in a fall on the day she was discharged from hospital.
But an inquest heard that Marian Pye died as a result of heart failure rather that complications arising from the fracture.
Deputy coroner Carolyn Singleton recorded a verdict of natural causes on Mrs Pye, of Bridge Street.
