A DRUG addict has been told he faces a long jail sentence after being convicted of raping two teenage girls.

Simon Kay, 41, formerly of Angela Street, Mill Hill, Blackburn, repeatedly raped one of the girls in concealed wooded areas in Blackburn.

Police said the incidents had ‘taken away’ the victims’ childhoods.

On Wednesday, Kay was unanimously convicted of 11 counts of rape following a seven day trial at Preston Crown Court.

Judge Pamela Badley warned him that he faces a lengthy custodial term when he is jailed next month.

He was remanded into custody until then.

Police said Kay would take amphetamine daily and was high on the drug when he committed the offences.

They said both girls had given evidence during the trial, which had been a ‘traumatic ordeal’ for them.
