A Brierfield woman confronted a burglar in her bedroom after he sneaked into her house through an unlocked door.
The incident happened in Broadhurst Way between 8.40pm and 8.50pm on Tuesday.
The woman went upstairs when she heard a noise. She was confronted by the thief who made off with a jewellery box containing an unknown amount of jewellery.
