SUPPORTERS of a charity calendar in aid of East Lancashire soldiers will be out in force over the New Year weekend.

Family and friends of Jordan Bancroft, the Earby lance corporal shot dead in Afghanistan, are behind the ‘Bare All For The Duke’s’ effort.

It is hoped that the proceeds from the calendar, compiled as a fundraiser for the Duke of Lancaster Regiment, will top the £10,000 collected last year.

The family has been joined by Annette Aspin, from Colne, whose son Shaun was seriously injured while serving with the regiment during the Afghan conflict.

She has been selling calendars every weekend in Colne’s indoor market.

Shaun has since returned to restricted duties with the Duke’s.

Her stall bears reminders of Jason Rawstron, from Clayton-le-Moors, who was killed in Afghanistan, in 2008, and those who were also seriously injured such as Rick Clements and Jack Plant, from Chatburn and Nelson respectively.

The calendar, shot at Brighouse Farm in Langho, is also on sale at various outlets in Clitheroe as well as Hudson’s Ices in Chatburn.

Stocks are also being held at the Burnley FC club shop, Phoenix store in Barnoldswick and can be ordered online at www.bareallforthedukes.co.uk
