MOVE over Little Mix!
Burnley has its very own pop group - children from Lowerhouse Junior School.
The 150 budding singers launched their own Pop Collection CD at a special concert at the Life Church, in Sycamore Avenue.
They spent a week learning and rehearsing their songs before recording the album in front of an audience of 550 people to raise money for school funds.
Sarah Lougher, the bursar at the school,in Liverpool Road, said: “The children absolutely adored doing it. We did it about four or five years ago and it went well then.
“It was a fantastic event and it is something the children really enjoy and get well involved in.
“They got to perform the songs at the concert which was very well attended and it was a great event.”
The project is run by the Pop Connection group who go into primary schools throughout the country to organise the event.
Each year group were given their own song to learn, record and perform on the theme of positive and uplifting lyrics.
Ms Lougher said: “The CD’s are now for sale at £7 and we have already sold around 100.
“It is a good time to do it at Christmas for presents for grandparents and relatives.
“The money is used to cover costs and is then put back into school funds.”
