A 24-year-old man arrested for being drunk and disorderly cracked a laminated glass panel in the door of a police holding cell, Blackburn magistrates heard.
Michael Jackson, of Largs Road, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Mincing Lane, Blackburn, and causing £350 worth of damage to the station.
He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay full compensation.
Jackson was gesticulating at the door staff and swearing at them and when officers asked him to calm down he became abusive towards them, the court was told.
He added: "He says the bouncers were extremely heavy handed and he was punched and head butted by one of them.
"He was aggrieved that he was arrested and that was why he lashed out in the police cell."
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said there had been an incident inside a pub.
And Jackson had been thrown out.
He added: "He says the bouncers were extremely heavy handed and he was punched and head butted by one of them.
"He was aggrieved that he was arrested.
"And that was why he lashed out in the police cell."
