A GROUP of Indonesian and Irish visitors were given a warm Burnley welcome as part of a visit to learn more about the borough's progress on developing community relationships.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley Coun Mohammad and Mrs Shamim Najib, MP Kitty Usher and council leader Gordon Birtwistle were among those greeting the high profile delegation made up of academics and community leaders.
Organised by the Global Opportunities Fund, the visit saw Burnley's guests learn and share ideas through group discussions and visits to community groups in Burnley.
Coun Birtwistle said: "Our guests kept commenting on how friendly the people of Burnley were - this is something the entire borough can be very proud of."
