A CAR owner came out of work to see a man sitting on the bonnet of her car.
Blackburn magistrates heard that, as she watched, Karl Duncan Hargreaves began to bounce up and down on her vehicle until he eventually caused a dent.
Hargreaves, 39, of Cherry Tree Lodge, Islington, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to criminal damage.
He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Neil White, prosecuting, said Charlotte Paris came out of St Anne's School, in Fielden Street, at about 12.30pm to talk to her mother.
"As she came out she saw the defendant sat on the bonnet of her car and, as she watched, he began to bounce up and down.
"Not surprisingly she was furious and called the police," he said.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Hargreaves had been to Father Jim's soup kitchen and was waiting for a friend.
He added: "He perched on the bonnet while he was waiting and absent-mindedly started to bounce up and down."
