A ‘SUICIDAL’ man was helped back into his flat by firefighters after he was spotted hanging out of a third-floor window yesterday.
Officers from Blackburn fire station used two ladders to get to the 45-year-old who was hanging on to the window frame of the building in Sumner Street, Blackburn, at 2.30am.
Crew manager Gary Thorpe said the incident was being treated as attempted suicide.
He said: “He was perched on the guttering on the bottom of his dormer window.
“We pitched two ladders up to stabilise him and managed to get him back in through the window.”
The rescue took place in blustery conditions and came after ambulance crews were called.
