A MAJOR resurfacing scheme will close part of the M65 for five hours tonight.
The eastbound carriageway from junction 2 at Bamber Bridge to junction 3 at Riley Green will be shut between midnight and 5am.
A diversion will be via the M65 westbound, the A6 northbound and the A675 eastbound.
The scheme is part of a £680,000 Highways Agency project which includes carriageway reconstruction as well as resurfacing.
Highways Agency project sponsor Peter Gee said. “There is never an easy time to do this kind of work but we have timed it to take place overnight.
“We hope motorway users will appreciate this work is a vital investment in maintaining safety and journey reliability around this particularly busy section of the M65.”
