TEACHERS at a Burnley school have come through an ‘unsettled’ period to earn plaudits from education inspectors.

Watchdogs visited Springfield Primary at the end of June and were impressed by the progress made.

Lead inspector Judith Straw said school leaders had coped with staffing changes to generate an improvement in attainment levels.

The school was praised for its work to tackle attendance problems and was given a ‘satisfactory’ rating.

Mrs Straw added: “Springfield is an inclusive and very supportive school in which pupils from different backgrounds and abilities learn harmoniously alongside each other.”
