A BLACKBURN teenager is appealing for donations of elastic bands so he can break a world record.
Andrew Page, 15, has used 20,000 bands to create an elastic band ball measuring three feet in diameter, and weighing 15 kilograms.
He needs donations of another four kilos of bands to break the world record.
The biggest elastic band ball made so far consisted of 700,000 bands, weighed 9,400 pounds (4,263 kilograms), and was eight-feet tall.
So far Andrew has been asking schools to donate unwanted elastic bands, but has struggled to get adequate supplies since schools closed for the summer.
