TWO county council buildings in Burnley are set to be sold.
The leader of Lancashire County Council Geoff Driver is set to give the green lights to plans to sell Meadowbank Day Care Centre, in Whittam Street and the Hargher Clough Pupil Referral Unit, in Venice Street.
Both buildings are no longer in use.
A spokesman for the county council said: “The subject premises have been declared surplus to directorate requirements.
“The disposal of these properties is judged to have no detrimental effect to present or future county council needs as no alternative service use has been identified.
“The purpose of this report is to recommend to the leader for approval that each property be declared surplus to the county council’s requirements and offered for sale on the open market.”
The Meadowbank Day Care Centre closed earlier this month with services moving to a £2million resource centre in Temple Street.
Plans to find a new base for services due to the run-down condition of Meadowbank were first mooted by Lancashire County Council bosses in January 2008.
Buyers will now be sought for both buildings.
