A TEENAGER has raised nearly £800 for a charity which has been a lifeline to one of her best friends.
Charlotte Whittaker, 16, jumped out of a plane from 14,000 feet in a sponsored skydive in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
She raised £785 for the charity, which has supported her former classmate from St Christopher’s High School in Accrington, Rebecca Fothergill, also 16.
Charlotte, of Plantation Road, Accrington, said: “I had always wanted to do a skydive and always thought I would do one when I was older, but when I saw I could raise money for Cystic Fibrosis I thought it was a great opportunity to do something I wanted to do and to raise money for my friend. It was a fantastic experience and I am going to do another skydive next June.”
Charlotte, who originally set herself a target of £600, said she would like to thank everybody who sponsored her efforts last month.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK’s only national charity dedicated to all aspects of Cystic Fibrosis.
