The worst roads in Darwen will be resurfaced in the coming weeks.
A sum of £477,000 has been made available to Blackburn with Darwen Council by the Department for Transport because of damage caused during the extreme winter.
Highways officers have earmarked the following for repair: The full length of Anyon Street; Oak Grove; part of Kay Street; Borough Road from the school to Inverness Road; Church Bank Street, and the junction of Green Street and Bury Street by the leisure centre.
Also selected are roads between 38 to 48 Belgrave Road; the junction of Radfield Road and Belgrave Road; Dewhurst Street;, Greens Arms Road, Edgworth; a section of the A666 between Hawkshaw Avenue and Moss Bridge Street; and from Bolton Road to Watery Lane.
Sunnyhurst councillor Dave Smith said: “Councillors get lots of complaints about the state of roads. It’s great news that this work will be done.”
