A NEW East Lancashire Hospice shop is to open in Bridge Street, Darwen, at 9.30am on Friday.
Dawn Neary, retail manager for the hospice said: “The new premises are modern and bright.
“We hope it will attract customers with a wide range of goods including clothing, books and bric-a-brac”.
Hospice shops always need good-quality donations of men’s, ladies and children’s clothing, shoes and handbags, bric-a-brac, books, CDs, DVDs and small electrical items.
Dawn added: “If we can’t sell it, we recycle it which provides additional income for the hospice and ensures that nothing is wasted.”
More than £2.8million is needed every year to continue the work of the East Lancashire Hospice.
Other East Lancashire Hospice shops are in Railway Road, Blackburn; Moor Lane, Clitheroe; Whalley Road, Accrington; Queen Street, Accrington; and a furniture warehouse in Blackburn.
The hospice plans to open more shops in the area over the next two years.
