DARWEN Aldridge Community Academy students celebrated the end of term with the likes of chart-topping artists such as Tinchy Stryder and Chipmunk.

The students were given the chance to see some of the country’s leading musicians at a star-studded concert at London’s O2 arena.

They were invited to London by children’s charity The Transformation Trust.

The Transformation Trust supports projects which provide extra-curricular activities and support for thousands of pupils and teachers across England.

Amy Leonard, chief executive of The Transformation Trust, said: “This year’s Rock Assembly absolutely exceeded our expectations.

"To see and hear so many positive comments from all the pupils and teachers who attended really is what it’s all about for us.

“As our impact report shows, the trust is going from strength-to-strength, by helping 565 schools give their pupils access to extra-curricular activities they otherwise could not afford.”
