THIS is the man police want to speak to in connection with a string of indecent exposures in Clitheroe over the past 18 months.

A total of seven incidents have been reported to police, with all but the most recent taken place in the Newton Street area of Clitheroe.

On each occasion the offender has waited in the alleyway leading to Woone Lane before exposing himself and running away.

The most recent offence took place on Monday July 4 at around 1.25pm in Brownlow Street.

Police said the offender had loitered in an alleyway and when a schoolgirl stopped to fasten her shoelaces, he exposed himself before running away from the scene.

The offender on that occasion was described as white and around 5’7” with a medium build and short dark scruffy hair.

He was wearing a plain grey t shirt with blue work pants and white trainers with a Velcro fastener.

Prior to this it is believed the same offender struck on Friday July 1 2011 at 8am when he exposed himself to a school girl and her friend who were walking to school.

During another incident a man exposed himself to three schoolgirls at about 2.40pm on June 30.

At this time he is believed to have been wearing blue trousers and had no top on.

Officers have now put together an evofit of the man they think may be responsible.

PC Manda Gibson from Clitheroe police said: “We would ask people who live in the Clitheroe area to look at this picture and see if they recognise the man.

“There have been a number of incidents over the past 18 months and the offender must be caught and put through the justice system.

“Our neighbourhood policing teams are working in the communities reassuring residents and should anyone notice anything suspicious then they should report it to the police.”
