ARMED response officers were called to Burnley after a group of youths were seen waving around what was believed to be a fire arm.

Police received a call from a distressed resident who believed four teenagers in a communal garden had a weapon.

Officers were swiftly mobilised to Booth Court, Burnley, at around 4.20pm yesterday.

They watched from a distance to try to establish whether the weapon was real.

The boys told officers it was a BB gun before seizing the weapon.
