A MOTORIST has died following a crash near Chorley.
A car and a motorcycle collided at 3.40pm today outside Birkacre Nursery garden centre at the junction of Birkacre Road and Coppull New Road.
The male driver of the car was taken to Chorley Hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The motorcyclist, also a man, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
An investigation is now underway and police are urging anybody that witnessed the incident that has not yet come forward to contact them on 08451 25 35 45.
