AN historic shop closed one of its stores in the town at the weekend.
Grays' Penny Street menswear shop had been opened for 47 years.
But bosses had to move out after the move of Blackburn market to a new £8million site in Church Street last month.
It will now focus its efforts on its Northgate school uniform store, and internet sales.
They decided not to open another store solely dedicated to menswear and will instead consolidate at the Northgate site.
John Wilding, a partner in the firm, said: “It’s the end of an era and it’s been a difficult decision, but we’d like to thank all our customers over many years.”
