A BLACKBURN-based law firm has appointed a new litigation specialist to deal with a rise in commercial disputes caused by the economic turmoil.
Garricks, which is Lancashire’s newest commercial law firm, has appointed Tom Smith to its dispute resolution team as it continues to see a rise in disputes between companies and other commercial organisations.
Tom joins the firm, based at Cunningham Court on Shadsworth Business Park, as an associate solicitor after five years with Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors, also based in Blackburn.
He will advise commercial clients on a wide range of contentious matters with a particular focus on contractual issues, property disputes, professional negligence, company and shareholder disputes and insolvency.
Greg Boyes, managing partner at Garricks, said: “Tom’s experience in commercial litigation means he can advise on most contentious issues and so he is a highly important addition to our dispute resolution team.”
