A BROKEN down train at Burnley Manchester Road station caused major rail disruption across East Lancashire this morning.
The Northern Rail train between on the York to Blackpool line broke down just before 9am.
A replacement bus service was running while some services were diverted via Manchester Victoria, extending journey times by up to 30 minutes.
Northern Rail advise that services are running on the line again, though there may be some residual delays.
