THE man killed in an horrific car crash has been described as “one in a million” by his devastated family.

Jason Kenealy, aged 32, died after the car he was travelling in burst into flames following the collision outside Bob Smithy’s Inn, in Chorley Old Road, on Saturday night.

He was taken to hospital following the crash at about 8.50pm, but later died of his injuries.

In a tribute on behalf of Jason’s family, his girlfriend said: “Jay was much loved by family and friends with his brilliant sense of humour.

“He always brought a smile to people’s faces. He will be so sadly missed by all who really knew him.

“Truly one in a million.”

A family of five — including three children — in another car were also injured in the crash. And two other men in the Vauxhall Corsa were taken to hospital. One of the men, a 22-year-old, also from Darwen, is in a “very serious”

condition with brain injuries.

The 24-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is in hospital with a broken ankle.

Staff and customers from the Bob Smithy pub rushed to help those injured in the accident.

The 41-year-old mother from the Toyota Corolla Verso people carrier is in hospital in a “critical” condition with deep cuts to her leg.

The father, aged 42, has been discharged from hospital, along with a seven-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

A six-year-old boy is being treated in hospital with a bruised lung.
