PRINCE William gave the royal approval to a Clitheroe youngster holding a garden party to celebrate the big day.

Nine-year-old Sophie Lowe wrote to the palace revealing her family’s plans on April 29, which is also her parents’ sixth wedding anniversary.

Her parents, Linzi, 34, and Damion, 41, are throwing a garden party with bunting, balloons, and a royal quiz, with guests eating bacon and sausage teacakes as they watch the royal couple walk down the aisle.

Linzi, a teaching assistant at Chatburn Primary School, said: “I didn’t want her to get her hopes up, but then a few weeks later we got a reply.”

The letter reads: “His Royal Highness was very interested to hear of your family’s plans on April 29 and hopes you will have a wonderful day.

“He also wishes your mother and father a very happy wedding anniversary.”

Sophie, a pupil at St Michael and John’s RC Primary School, Clitheroe, said she was ‘over the moon’ to receive a reply.
