A TEACHER with a fear of heights is to take part in a parachute jump next month to raise money for a swimm-ing club attended by her nephew.
Carolanne Connolly will throw herself from the plane in the Lake District on May 14, the day of her 60th birthday, to raise funds for Rossendale Rays Swimming Club.
The club, based at Marl Pits pool in Rawtenstall and run by Carolanne’s brother Paul Mulderrig, provides swim-ming activities for adults and children with learning difficulties and profound physical challenges, including her 11-year-old nephew Caspar, who has Down’s syndrome.
Carolanne, from Bacup, said: “I love flying so that part will be okay but I get quite nervous at heights such as towers, so I think it will really hit me when I’m stood on the edge of the plane.”
