ALMOST 80 homes in Pendle were left without electricity for five hours during a power cut on Monday night.
A spokesman for Electricity North West confirmed that 78 properties in Colne were left without power between 5.36pm and 10.26pm.
The blackout, which affected houses in the Bent Lane area of the town, was caused by an underground cable fault, he said.
Yesterday, the spokesman said power was being provided through a generator, but that normal service would be resumed once the fault had been fixed.
He said initial investigations indicated the fault may have occurred in a sub-station.
The spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers. We are making full repairs to the fault now.”
