A DRUNK who ordered the mugging of a teenager to get his mobile phone has been jailed for 10 months.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Sean Mace, 26, now a father-to-be, had instructed a youth to get the phone and the 18-year-old victim had been punched in the face twice.
His beer had already been pinched in the incident at a block of flats.
Mace, now said to have found love for the first time, had admitted robbery, last June.
The defendant, of Blackburn Road, Baxenden, was told by a judge he had committed a “completely gratuitous offence of robbery”.
Joe Boyd, for Mace, said he had a significant criminal record. He had been introduced to alcohol by his mother at the age of nine and by the time he was 14, he was living on the streets.
Mr Boyd said: “It’s probably inevitable that this young man was going to become grossly addicted to alcohol with some drug use by a very early age.
"He’s had no love in his life, but he now has.”
