THE University of Central Lancashire has been ranked 65 out of 116 in the annual Complete University Guide.

It rose six places from 71 last year.

Professor David Phoenix said: “This league table highlights the importance we place on providing an excellent student experience.

"Our students want to know they are listened to, that they have realistic student/staff ratios, access to sector leading library and computing services and they want top-of-the-range leisure facilities.”

Lancaster University kept its place in the top 10, though it dropped from 8 to 9.

This year Cambridge University took the top spot with Oxford securing second.

The table ranks 116 universities on a number of areas including student satisfaction, research and money spent on academic services.
