THE mugshot of a drug dealer who flooded part of Burnley with cocaine and cannabis is being used in a police poster campaign to reassure residents.

The face of Amjad Khan, 25, is on leaflets distributed in the Stoneyholme area, where he sold the drugs.

Khan, of Arley Gardens, was last month jailed for four years after pleading guilty to selling the drugs, as well as four counts of money laundering and fraud.

Residents in Brougham Street, Gordon Street, Arley Gardens, Castle Street, and Burleigh Street, have received the leaflet, which reads ‘Four years, thanks to you’’ and ‘Your neighbourhood is safer. Let’s keep it that way’.

Officers hope the action will encourage them to come forward with information about other criminals PC Ivan Brown said: “Members of the community should not have to endure drug dealing on their doorstep and I hope these leaflets help reassure residents that Khan is now off our streets and behind bars.”
