BUSINESSES in the North West raked in £25billion through exporting last year, a rise of six per cent on 2009.
UK Trade and Investment said the increase was down to a boost in sales in Brazil, Russia, India and China.
Director Clive Drinkwater said: “If companies are to maintain resilience they need to take full advantage of the opportunities afforded by overseas markets.”
