A FATHER whose two sons are autistic has recruited music stars to raise cash for charities.

Flava Dance group and Greg Pritchard, from Britain’s Got Talent, Jamie Archer, from the X Factor, and Martin Finn and Carly Ryan, from BBC3 Autism Superstars, will all be performing at a Charity Gala Dinner, in Gisburn.

The event has been organised by father-of three, Shaun Bradbury, whose two sons, Dominic, nine, and six-year-old Harvey, suffer from autism.

The 34-year-old is hoping to raise thousands for Dominic’s House – a new charity set up in his son’s name to arrange holiday homes for autistic and special needs children and their families.

The events manager, who also has a seven-year-old daughter, Emily, with his wife, Nicola, 31, is also raising money for Cancer Research UK.

He said: “Dominic gets bullied a lot because of his condition and it is so heart-breaking to see him so upset because he just wants to fit in, but he struggles to.

“He has a lot of low points that he struggles with, and we want to raise as much awareness about autism for communities to understand the day-to-day challenges families face.

“This is why we want to get this project off the ground to help others through these challenges in life.”

Mr Bradbury is hoping more than 300 people will attend the fundraising night at the Stirk House Hotel, on May 14.

Speaking about the new charity, he said: “The project is setting up a family holiday home for the children and their families, set in private gardens, with indoor and outdoor activities in a safe environment, because there are not many holiday homes in the UK that support special needs children and their families.

“It seems crystal clear to us that a good holiday is a small, but very important component in helping keep families together.

“So, we want to provide a resource for families like our’s that we have found very difficult to find.”
