AN Accrington man seen dragging a suitcase of stolen copper piping and tools has been locked up for 18 months.
Burnley Crown Court heard how David Freeman, 38, who was in breach of a suspended sentence, gave police a story, claiming he had found it, but was going to stash the haul away.
Recorder Nick Clake, QC, told the defendant he had earlier been given a chance by the court.
He added: “I am driven to the conclusion that the public needs a rest from you.”
Freeman, of Ormerod Street, Accrington, had earlier admitted handling stolen goods.
